Replace its Razr

Ask someone about Motorola’s latest management rejig and you’d perhaps hear just a ‘sigh’, with a sardonic grin!

After all, times must be quite desperate for Ed Zander, CEO, Motorola Inc. to confess, “Performance in our mobile devices business continues to be unacceptable...” Reasons enough for a change in top management, which included the appointment of Greg Brown as President & COO and Thomas Meredith as acting - CFO.

Motorola gave yet another shocker to its shareholders on March 21, 2007 with its dismal first quarter 2007 outlook, warning investors of a ‘negative’ EPS between $0.07 & $0.09! While the MotoRazr rocked; the company had become oblivious of successful launches by competitors.
